Work Experience
2012 - Today
Retail - Grocery
For 8 years, I have been studying buying patterns, designing displays and promotional merchandising, and chatting one-on-one with folks to help them select the right food for their unique needs.
I work hard every day with my body and my mind, and I eat a lot of snacks to fuel my labor.
2013 - 2019
Lighting Design - Burlesque, Cabaret, Circus
I light up talented people and make them look good. Working with performers to help tell their stories using color, depth, and musical timing has been a huge honor and a creative challenge unlike any other I've done so far.
2008 - 2011
Teaching English - Tokushima, Japan
I worked for three years in a profession in which I had no training, in a country where I initially didn't speak the language. I made strong moves to improve my teaching, and connected deeply with my students and my community. From that point, I was able to find my "ikigai", my intersection of passion, purpose, and professional drive.
